I am planning to visit Singapore, any comments for the Gateway Hotel which is close to MRT Paya Lebar!?

I won't call the location close to Paya Lebar MRT. It is probably a 15 - 20 minute walk away. Have not seen the actual hotel or the rooms, but the location is quite active in night life, pubs and KTVs (but not Geylang lah) Paya Lebr MRT is 6 stops away from City Hall MRT where Raffles City shopping centre is and another 3 stops from Orchard MRT (you must change trains at City Hall MRT) Take an estimated 3 minutes per station, you are about 30 minutes from Orchard. By Singapore standards, this is not considered near.

Gateway is a small hotel, at Joo Chait Road ( opposite of Joo Chait Complex ). is a GOOD Hotel. all Hotel in Joo Chait area are under well control now. ( not allow for Hourly rental after 1 Jan 09 ) easy to get foods,many nice Muslim food store around. and direct bus to town ( service 2 , 51 ) and services 30 direct to Harbour front , Jurong .Services 7 to Orchard Road ( around 36 min , $ 1.50 paid by cash ) Is take 15 min walk to Paya Lebar Station. * Lion City Hotel is as good as Gateway , just oppsite side of Paya Lebar MRT, 5 min walk , Tel 6744 8111 *
