A foreigner cannot buy a freehold landed property but may purchase a strata property in a building exceeding 6 floors (including basements). If you purchase a property you can lease it as it's your property. As for PR, purchase of property is not a factor in granting PR applications - the only "economic" way to support a PR application is through the FIS, Financial Investors' Scheme - investing / placings funds (several million SGD) into aSingapore bank account for a number of years.

yes, a foreigner can only buy a private property that is a Condo and a PR can only buy a private property and a resale HDB flat, you can find list of private residential property and HDB residential property for rent and sale on 88db website, i'm not sure if having property will makes it easier for a foreigner to get Singapore PR, i think you have to check with ICA, and of course the HDB residential would be cheaper than the private residential housing...hope this helps
yes, foreignor can buy property in singapore. that property is not called condo. well private apartments are called condo here.. government ones are called hdb ie housing development board wherein the majority of the population lives and its in no way outdated than what a condo has. all the money needs to be paid since foreignor, think have installment basis. loans, not sure whether can obtain from singapore or the foreignor's home country. rental worth price can be obtained from real estate agents like propnex etc.. and also they will help you on loan issues. haha, just owning property doesnt entitle one to be a PR here.. must be gainfully employed in singapore to hold PR. normal property as in HDB as I said is cheap compared to condo, also depends on the area, some is posh areas, some is ullu areas.. ullu in malay means deep inside areas. but since consider singapore small country.. fully city state, everywhere is the same according to my perspective. to buy normal property in your language for hdb.. as a foreignor.. am not sure. check with the real estate agents, email to any of the consultants from propnex, they have a website.. google it.. or use your favourite search engine.. hope this helps.. - singaporean
