How about job offer for EMS industry in singapore now..?

Currently I’m working as NPI Engineer in Mobile manufacturing firm (EMS industry) in Chennai/India, it seems like our factory is going to shut down due to recession. I would like to go to Singapore and look for job for the same EMS industry. I don’t have idea about EMS industries in Singapore. I knew that Singapore also impacted due to recession, but some of them telling that now it’s getting recovered from it, I don’t know how true is it… does anyone help me clear this information, I would really appreciate your information ..Thanks in advance

the manufacturing sector is the worst performance sector in singapore economy; i suggest that it is NOT wise to come here; u can try in ur own country; recovering in the economy does NOT mean that ALL sectors r doing well in the economy; just recently ONE american company axe 2000 workers from manufacturing sector n the govt. had said that there WILL be MORE job losses despite recovery

oh god... anything relating to manufacturing is bad everywhere, especially here in the USA, as well as Mexico and Canada. I would advise you to go abroad after one or two years.

I believe you are referring to the Electronics Manufacturing Services sector. Singapore's slowly recovering from the recession, however most of the companies in this sector has shut down or moved out to lower cost regions. This would also apply to Mobile manufacturing. (An example would be Motorola which has closed down here recently). I would advise that you try China for the same industry. They have aplenty of opportunities there.
