by local standards, 6k per month is a pretty good offer. you may spend anywhere between 1.5k - 3k for your rent, depending on whether you rent public housing or private condominium. if you rent landed properties, it can get even higher still. but assuming you rent public housing (HDB), your rent should be less than 2k per month. food and clothing are things you will need to spend whether you are here or anywhere else in the world. given the salary, you should get by comfortably. the other consideration would be relocation costs. eg. getting new furnitures etc. you can rent apartments that are fully furnished, but that would add to your rent. otherwise, buying and filling your house with furnitures can cost a bit at the start. again, it all depends on expectations. a friend of mine took almost 2 years to settle in. for the better part of the first year, he had no sofas nor dining table. he had a coffee table, tv and tv cabinet. dinner was at the coffee table. he got mattress for sleeping but did not get a bed frame till a few months after shifting to singapore. this is how he managed to spread out his cost of settling into singapore. Now, he is doing well and owns a comfortable place of his own

thats a nice offer, you should grab the opportunity. you can rent an hdb for only S$1.5K to S$2K or if you like a condo it will be S$2K and above per month. food here is expensive but i think you can survive. 6K a month is an above average salary. If you're planning to move with your family you can still survive, but i dont think you can save. --------------------------------------… Singapore Company Incorporation http://www.asiabizservices.com

It's pretty good an offer. For locals, many do not get this range of salary...however, kids education expenses can get expensive here. But i think you'll be able to manage.
