Why so many sinngaporeans from singapore want to migrate to other countries?

children"s education = bilingual is killing. better university studies. of course, u earn more u pay more. cost of living = hv u tried napa valley, california - huge homes for same small flat in sgp. cars in usa /aussie is cheap. u dont feel claustrophobic. weekends is only JB and the jam. climate - autumn/spring is just beautiful. if ud ont go toofar south/north u get nice mild winters/not so hot summers ts gracious living in these countries - esp in small towns - politeness/clean public toilets some places no night life but how often u go night-out in sgp?

Why not? Most likey than not, the cost of living might be high or comparable, you might get more pay. Might have better career propect? Even if you choose to return to SG aft 5, 10yrs, you might get more pay. The weather is better, the basic daily neccesities will be cheaper, cheaper to own a house and car? You have your breathing space. Not sharing a small place with 4.7 million others.

They always think the other side of the grass is always greener and think that the SG Govt is never good enough for them. Having to travel to so many places and living in California now. I can tell you that seriously Singapore is the best. I do not have a choice when I moved from Singapore to USA. But I am planning to retire in Singapore. Singapore is still the best!

If you want to work till 80 yrs old then retired, then you may continues to stay at Singapore.

Becoz there are the most Singaporeans in Singapore than any other country. If you go to other countries, there is not so many Singaporeans. There are always a group of people in any country that want to move out of their country. Most Singaporeans that I know would rather stay in Singapore.

Many also desired to return after discovering that SG has many advantages the other countries don't. Cheaper houses, cars, large open spaces, nice scenery, exciting activities, etc are plus points, but after a while some of the glamour, attractiveness wear off. You may not be well accepted and being treated as a second-class citizen. The crime and traffic accident rates are high, and natural disasters are common. One needs a lot of luck and diligence to survive well overseas. Usually professionals are more likely to gain satisfaction and attain a comfortable living style. Be prepared to lose a lot when a natural disaster strikes or when your luck runs out in one way or another. But i say if you are still young and adventurous, give it a try; if you are in your golden years, SG is still the safest and most ideal place to stay.
