Can someone please recommend a good but not too pricey hotel and which area should we stay so that we can travel to the above-mentioned places easily. 2. With 4 of us, is it cheaper to take a cab while moving point-to-point or purchase MRT passes ? 3. Other family-oriented places we should visit ?

1) hotels that are not so pricey...i am not sure cause i never stayed a hotel in my own country before l: but what ive googled these seem pretty cheap http://hotels.online.com.sg/singapore-hotels-class-budget.asp 2) cab, less hassle too. just try to avoid peak hours, midnight hours and certain locations. http://www.taxisingapore.com/taxi-fare/ being a singaporean myself i find bus lines confusing at times...so for 4 people cab should be better, you might get lost with bus & MRT..which might cost more than hiring a cab instead. 3)hmm sentosa should be a good choice, with universal studio there...you can go to vivocity (harbourfront MRT station) to shop before proceeding to sentosa via the shuttle train @ level 3- vivocity. hmm changi airport to look at the planes is pretty fun too. and try taking the ferris wheel @ Marina Bay..it is the highest in the world yet though the passes are quite expensive..around 30SGD/60 Ringgit. i wouldnt recommend you to ESCAPE theme park though, i heard that Malaysia's one is bigger and more fun. if you wanna ask more you can send me a msg, id be happy to help !

Hello! It's nice to know you will be visiting Singapore. We just visited Penang last December! How would you be coming to Singapore? Coach / air / self-drive? If you are with the Coach / Air, you might want to check with these agencies as they might have a hotel package attached. This would save you $$$ instead of booking a hotel room separately. Check it out and then make your plans from there. However, if you are going to self-drive down, then you might want to check out websites like singapore hotels, cheap hotels, etc. Cheaper to move around in Singapore by MRT passes. Don't worry, Singapore has a very efficient transport network and getting around is really a breeze and no hassle except for peak hour rush / crowd. Just visit Singapore websites like the Tourist Promotion Board and you will be able to check out many places before you come. Come around 3rd week of May and you may just be on time to "catch" the Great Singapore Sale! It runs till around July. Welcome! ;D

Best is to stay in Havelock Area near to the S'pore River and can explore the River, Chinatown and Orchard Shopping District all by walk or short shuttle free service. Get a Tourist leaflet or informatic materials from Tourist Board Office at Airport, Orchard, or Chinatown . Enjoy your exploration to add interest for your kids to know more by walk.

Hi 1. If you plan on staying at affordable accommodation on Orchard Road, you could consider Fort Canning Lodge. There are also some good 4-star hotels in the city centre, such as Carlton Hotel. 2. If you are just travelling to main sights in the city, take the MRT. If you are venturing farther out, such as going to the Zoo, take a taxi. 3. Check out Jacob Ballas Garden for children at Botanic Gardens. Also Mint Museum of Toys (Seah St) and Museum of Shanghai Toys(Rowell Road).
