Orchard Road!!!! It is the biggest shopping district in SE Asia. Here, check it out for yourself! http://www.visitsingapore.com/publish/stbportal/en/home/what_to_do/shopping/where_to_shop/shopping_in_orchard.html That is upscale shopping, if you want a more thrifty place, check out Bugis Village. It is also good, but go at night. They have good deals there and cheap food. We got a hige plate of food and a drink for less than $2 USD. Be ready to bargain at this place!

You don't need a tour guide to bring you to shops in Singapore. There are so many shopping centres along Orchard Road, Marina Centre, Bugis area and finally every housing estate has at least a shopping mall. You have to beware of guides bringing you to shop. The shops they recommend usually fleece their customer. Same for ALL other countries.
