She would like advice on what they could visit while in Singapore. She would also like advice on a reasonable restaurant to eat in, she is a vegetarian, her children aren't. any advice would be great thanks............

Definitely take a trip to Sentosa Island. There's all sorts for kiddies there. There are beaches, kiddies' rides, and they can all have their photo taken by the sign that says "You are at the southernmost point of the continent of Asia." They must go up the sky-tower. Stay there till the evening for the spectacular water/laser show hosted by Kiki the monkey. It's absolutely fabulous. The Singaporeans are very child-friendly. They will be welcome just about everywhere. And most hotels have swimming pools, which will keep nearly all kids occupied for several hours. I can also recommend a trip to the night safari if they all fancy seeing 'wild' animals. As for food, well the children will probably love the fact that every third or fourth shop is either a Burger King or McDonalds. One restaurant I can recommend is Modesto's at the far western end of Orchard Street, the main shopping street. They have a wide-ranging menu from Chinese to Italian (best pizzas in Singapore!) to Malaysian. Veggies are well catered for at Modesto's too. And if you're friend really misses veggie grub from home, there's an M&S on Orchard Street! Seriously. And tell your friend to take the underground everywhere. Cheap, clean and reliable. All in all it's an amazing place - cheap, spotlessly clean and very friendly. Just one word of warning, it's one of the most humid places on earth. The humidity combined with the heat can make it a little trying at times. But it makes for some truly spectacular thunderstorms which, if you friend is like me, will just make the holiday even better! I hope she has a great time - there and in Oz. I've done it myself twice, and really hope to do it all again one day.

I would suggest the Botanical Gardens and maybe the Suntec Centre which is a business centre but pretty amazing and full of various kinds of restaurants. other suggestions are Take a 'DuckTour' - ride around the city on an amphibious vehicle that is half boat and half truck cart. Visit Singapore Zoo and have breakfast with the 'orangutans' surrounded by the tropical rainforest. Observe the birds and other exotic floral at the Jurong BirdPark. Check out performances at the highly acclaimed Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. Take a day trip to Sentosa Island and stop to feed the sharks and other sea creatures in the unique experience of Underwater World.

Hi! I had been to Singapore with my grandchildren. Last year, I would recommend 1) Wild Wild Wet ( http://www.wildwildwet.com/ ) A "water theme park". You can take a cab 10-15mins from the airport. 2) if the kids like animals, I would recommended Singapore Zoo ( http://www.zoo.com.sg/ ). It is an open zoo where some animal are roaming around the park. And the kids will be happy to watch the animals show. We like the Zoo most as we spend almost the whole day. 3) Night Safari ( http://www.nightsafari.com.sg/ ) are next to the Singapore Zoo which is open at night. As for the food. I do know that there are quite a number of restaurant, food court and fast food restaurant at the Wild Wild Wet at the downtown East. The kids are enjoying very much.

All the answers are great I just want to add another little thing, while travelling to Singapore chewing gum is prohibit. You are not allowed to have any chewing gum in this country because Singapore is one of the cleanest country I've ever seen the government is really strict on this.

Places to visit: Sentosa Island, Jurong Bird Park, Singapore Zoo. Restaurants: There are Mc Donalds in Singapore and otherwise it is mostly asian food. The airport has an O'Brien's Sandwich Bar. Hope this helps.

Probably around food courts.

Singapore is the ideal place to bring kids... It's sufficiently safe and most people are tolerant of kids and their antics. As Singapore has a huge variety of restaurants, it should be no problem finding one that is vegetarian - and is probably right next to a place that will offer food that the kids like, too!
