Is there much racism in Singapore?

Who else is sick of blatant racism in Singapore?

• It's time people come forward and break the wall of silence regarding the racism issue. Singaporean chinese are blatantly racist and everyone is just supposed to be alright with it. It really makes my blood boil. They think they can treat you like crap if you're of indian descent. I was trying to rent a place and about 80 percent of the agents turned me down (on the phone) because "I sound like an Indian" and the landlord strictly does not want Indians. The best part I'm not really indian, i'm from Pakistan. The first thing they ask you on the phone is your RACE....does that give you a hint of how racist they are? They judge you without even meeting you face to face, they judge you on your race. Let me ask them something...are the people of chinese race superior? do they really think so?...I'm sure they would be ecstatic if a person with a british or american accent called to rent their place. Seems like your accent and the colour of your skin are guide lines to judge you and your personality. No where in the world have I seen such racist attitudes. So please stop with the racial harmony crap. It's just not true. Say no to racism people. God will love you more for it. Peace.

  Ahh yes, racism in Singapore. Happens in every aspect of life in the society, even foreigners know acknowledge Singapore is the most racist country in Asia (at least in South-East Asia). Who are the racist ones? The Chinese. The worst victims are the local Malays, followed by Indians, and other dark-skin people (Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc). Why are they so racist? I do not know. Are the Chinese a superior race? I certainly don't think so. But their cultures and religion (if any) play a part. This is what happen if your culture says everybody will go to heaven, and you can even bring your material possession to heaven (after-life). That's why everybody is so materialistic. And there is no concept of hell to punish the bad ones, so nobody cares to do good deeds to other people. Some Singaporean Chinese are Christians (and a few Muslims too) so these people may have different views to life. They even have their own word 'kiasu' to describe their own race. Well, the Chinese in this part of the world are not called 'Jews of the East' for nothing you know. Thailand's King Rama VI first called them the 'Jews of the East' some 80 years ago, for strong reasons. They controlled the economy in Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, but refused to share the wealth with the people. Instead, abuse and take advantage of their riches. They bribe the government with money, and ensure their influence in government policy-making. That is why there was a riot in Indonesia in 1998 because Indonesians were fed-up with the local Chinese who controlled the economy by didn't do anything when the country is gripped by economic problems like food shortages and mass unemployment. It is even worst In Singapore where they control both the government and economy - no need to describe here as you should know very well.
