First you would need a tourist visa before you can enter Singapore. Then in Singapore, you may try to find some jobs there. If you are hired based on your qualifications, then your prospective employer will apply the work permit for you. You CANNOT apply this yourself.

There are many websites on job openings, such as: http://www.jobsdb.com.sg/Singapore http://jobscentral.com.sg/ http://singapore.job-q.com/ It would be wise to browse and contact the advertisers and meet them for interview during your trip there. Dont be surprise to see ''ONLY SINGAPOREAN / PR / MALAYSIAN NEED APPLY'' in most of the job openings. Meaning you have no luck for that opening and need to look for those open to foreigner, its tough time right now. You cannot apply for the work permit by yourself. Only your prospective employer can apply for your work permit and the process is free. More info on employment issue here http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/momportal/en/home.aspx Best of luck.

You cannot obtain any employment visa or work permit. Only employers can apply for and obtain them. And unless you have a good university degree (at least a baccalaureate, or a masters) and then work experience in your field of study, you do not qualify for an employment visa. You cannot work for or through an "agency." You must have an employer. Since employment visas are costly and difficult to obtain, you had better be fabulous! There are plenty of Singaporeans with better university qualifications than practically anyone from India. Singapore's universities and technical colleges are first rate - VERY high standards & demanding curriculum.

You have to be a PR (Permanent Resident) first before getting any permits or jobs in Singapore. If you're going here for a vacation, why would need a job for ?

Sigh.. don't know why people have this impression on perhaps the oldest civilization on the planet. May be it's due to the recent incidents which portrayed the nation in that way. Anyway to answer your question, first if your intention to work in Singapore is to get lot of money then forget about it. This place is not for that. If it's different reason then you need to get a job in Singapore first. There is no consultant who can help you but companies who recruit you and apply Employment Pass directly to MOM. Make a decision on considering all the factors.. e.g. career progression, life style, and future plans <<Also you heard the comments from fellow people on the impressions they've on so called immigrants, this place is rather crowded with lot of foreigners who's taking away the jobs and space.. >>
