There's a really good steamboat restaurant at Tiong Bahru Plaza. It's on the second floor, just after Sakae Sushi. You get your personal steamboat pot and you can sit there and enjoy your meal without smelling like smoke and meat. They have different set meals (chicken, beef, pork) and different soup bases (chicken, fish and tomyam) for choice. Set meals would come with either noodles or rice. Your entire meal there, after ordering drinks, should cost less than $20.
