Do you agree on imposing board exams for every college courses in the Philippines?
-
Yup that is right, every courses which doesn't fall under the category of medical or engineering is now requiring a board exams. Do you agree on this? If yes, why and if no why? Take the case of AB courses like political science graduates doesn't need board exams and in the commerce department, only accountancy graduates are required to take the board exams, the rest none at all. In my own opinion, why not let all graduates in college take a board examination to test their competency in absorbing what they learn in college. Let's admit it we mostly produce half baked college graduates. Some of them just finish the course they didn't really intend to study or graduate from. Probably some of you might ask is the board exams a sure fire guarantee that these graduates are not half bake or over cook graduates. Actually no. There are no sure fire remedy for almost anything in this world esp. in the Philippines, in the true sense of the word. But at least they can test themselves on what progress they were in those 4 long years in college for. And for those who are afraid of taking multiple test or exams might just probably take vocational courses which doesn't require a board exams. And lure them to jobs that are really in demand in the present situation like auto mechanic/air-con tech/electrician and electronic tech..etc. Most young guys doesn't want to make their hands dirty and wants an office or white collar jobs. And since this global recession hit the world market, all office works and offices close shop and vanish into thin air. You might add again another complain, having to know Filipino that much I know meron pa rin reklamo lagi. Ang Pinoy kasi No. 1reklamador. Some might add dag-dag gastos na naman ito sa mga magaaral you might say. Who will benefit most in this endeavor but the graduates is it not? Gobyerno ba makikinabang kung makapasa sila sa board? Dahil they can see their name(s) in the newspaper for the first time among the graduates of this so and so course. At least their hardship and effort paid off in the long run. What more negative feed back you still have in mind. I am a Filipino like I said before but definitely do not think like one. For me, I go for this idea. Most Filipinos are negative thinkers, that is why it is no surprise the Philippines cannot progress even a little bit. For me instead of cursing those who tell negative things about us like Adam Carollas, we should welcome it because it is a wake up call for us Filipinos para gumising sa mahabang pagkakahimbing. We are in a very deep slumber for ages. A slap on the face or a prick of a needle is not enough to wake us up. We should be dowse by a gasoline and a lighter. We definitely deserve their opinion. Dahil minsan 22o naman. Remember the famous line why not light a candle instead of cursing the night. Is it right to impose board exams for all college courses or not? So what do you think?

Answer:
My opinion is that board exams are only one way of testing a person's skill and competency. There are many people who are better with application and practice than they are with theory. Some people are excellent at writing things down on paper but do not have the strength of will, the resourcefulness or the spine to carry out their good ideas. Another thing to consider is the fact that not all programs are the same. Medicine and Accounting programs require a lot of beforehand knowledge. All those complicated math equations and medical jargon are stuff you have to know prior to taking the actual job, hence the board exams. But other courses, like Political Science, may have more to do with hands-on experience than they do factual information. One can also consider the number of applicants. I'm sure you've noticed that Medicine/Nursing and Accounting courses are very popular in the Philippines, which is why board exams are needed to sift through and filter out the good candidates from the bad ones. Those who take another program just because they're too chicken to take a course with an exam are the same ones who probably wouldn't have made it through board exam course anyway. And finally, di ko talaga nakikita ang relasyon sa sinabi ni Carolla at sa issue with the board exams. It's true that the Philippines leaves a lot to be desired, but it's not all the fault or the responsibility of the graduates. Not all voters are college graduates naman diba? Education is one step in the right direction, but I don't think that implementing board exams for every program will do much good.

Not necessary, like your long "reklamo". Ang pinoy no.1 reklamador? Nope, hindi lahat. Kaunti lang tulad mo, maarte, mayabang, at hipokrito. Sorry kung nasaktan ka, pero like what you said, its better to light a candle...

NO. Not necessary.
Think Tankā¢ II
Having board exam for current non-board exam courses in the Phils. is not necessary imo. The students will be retrained by the company they'll be working for before they start work anyway. What students learn from school may not be applicable to the job often times. Each company wants things done in certain ways.

In a way maganda rin, pero sa hirap ng buhay its a questionable. Is it really necessary or leave it the way it is. Besides, who wants to go to college for so many years then put it on hold. Most of those courses you have mention above are they have success in life here in abroad or in the Philippines. Anyway, your post is only an opinion, its your point of view.
