Philippine cell phone with decent signal quality?

• What is an affordable cell phone to use in the Philippines that has decent signal quality? I live in the province of Pangasinan. The first phone I had was a samsung phone single sim and it worked pretty well. I bought a myphone (yes that's the actual name of the brand) because it was a dual sam and had globe and smart sims on it. The myphone had a cheap price of 1,190 pesos (I think) so I decided to buy it since all I really wanted was a cheap dual sim phone. Now two months (I think) later, I realize that the phone is starting to have a delay in sms messages. Sometimes my gf will send me a text at like 9pm and I won't receive it until midnight and when I try to reply back to her text, she has already fallen asleep. Just recently, I was wondering why she didn't text me the whole day. But surprisingly, she had texted me but my phone never got her text. She had texted me at 3 pm and then at 7 pm and I received both sms messages at like 9:30pm that night. It annoyed me. I've only dropped the phone one time on the ground but that was it. Is there any way to improve the signal on the phone? Or should I get a better phone?

  Regarding delayed message, the service provider is to blame but durability relies on the quality of the unit. myPhone comes from Taiwan so do not expect high quality. Smart has the widest coverage yet and Nokia is still the most favorite phone in the PH.
