Why is it so hard to find Tagalog movies with English Subs?

• I mean for a nation full of people that speak English way is it so hard to find English subs on movies. Is it because of lack of interest in foreign distributions and satisfaction with being a consumer of international media and not a producer. There are tons of great Filipino movies and shows that I think the global community would watch and perhaps learn more about the Philippines from but it's like finding a needle in a haystack to find sub movies. Am I wrong, For feeling like we need to put our stuff out there. I go on a site called Interpals.net and have friends from all over and they ask for movies so they may learn tagalog like they try to learn Japanese or Korean but unlike them it's like impossible to help them and I feel a bit of my pride hurt as a result. I would like to start of site that cater to eng sub Tagalog movies I have faith that it could grow into a good site but first I need to hear opinions.

  I think the reason why there aren't much Filipino movies with English subs is that not all producers (TV or Movie) consider the possibility of reaching a broader market. They may see it as adding more cost to the post production instead of getting passive revenue from it. But I agree, there are a lot of great Filipino movies that we can share to the rest of the world which can also help us promote the Filipino language to foreigners. Another possible reason that I see is that there are some areas in the Philippines where natives do not actually use Tagalog or Filipino, instead they use their own dialects. With that, producers may also see it as some sort of a disrespect to these groups who really do not look at Tagalog as a national language.
