  • In philippines its a common known as a prostitute,but base on my knowledge is not a prostitute.It is a tittle name of an employee in a hotel to handle front office duty including check in and check out of a guests,to handle complaints and feedback of guests,to furnish guests on information,and to keep up a high service standard and smoth operation of the hotel.I'am a worker in a four star hotel,My job is a Shift Supervisor at the hotel restaurant,I just got promoted to the front desk as GRO,guest relation officer.And I'm proud to be me. I can say not only in the Philippenes have a prostitute,all over the world and some country are worse of prostitute.

the title GRO has a connotation of a prostitute. that's why the acronym people replace GRO with is PRO or public relations officer. same dennotation, different connotation. i suggest you use PRO to refer to your position as well. or just call yourself a front desk officer or whatever your company calls your position.
