Does Valentine's Day hold special meaning only if one is in love?

Depends on the person and their personality...I think those who fly solo on this day leave work, crawl in bed with a bottle of wine and a lame movie or the free spirited, anything goes person....spends a night on the town living it up with their other solo friends.

I think it is special only if someone has a date. It isn't so special for me because I am in America and my love is in the Philippines.

It does not really have to be just another day for those flying solo. There are many ways this day for the hearts can be very special, too. One thing I could think of is to look for this "kissathon" (as Papa Chuck coins it) event, and therein, among the crowd of kissing partners, look for any one vacant, either because the partner has absconded or rendered incapacitated, or simply went for Pepsi or Coke. And present your services. This could start a very colorful day. Either you end up with a new sweetheart, or get mugged by the real partner when he/she gets back. Either way, the day shouldn't be so dull.

Oh, as for me, I am always in love with love and everyday is Valentine's Day, especially in attending to the needs of the poor ones. We always have happy meals together! How about you? Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!

Yes, it does - especially for florists, greeting card companies, chocolate factories, and jewelers. To the average person, just another day.

Not necessarily. The day can be meaningful, too, for the singles. They can celebrate it with friends or family. If, on this special day, one is loveless, treat it like any ordinary day or treat it special, it depends.

I feel sad for those who wait for a special day to show love or care for someone.... I am lucky...my husband shows me love and care 7 days a week, 365 days a year... (*-*)
