Where can i buy a cheap (but good) skateboard in the philippines?

• okay let me get this straight, i'm only starting out so i don't want to invest much on skateboards yet. i want to try it out first and see if it's my cup of tea. :D so i have a few questions for all the skaters out there: - where can i buy a cheap skateboard in the philippines (manila area)? - how much would a complete set cost? - which size should i get? - as for the shoes, what kind should i buy? details about me: i'm 18, 80 lbs, and i wear size 9 shoes. also, i'm a girl! any help would be appreciated. thanks! :)

  cheap boards can be bought in most sports stores like jb sports or toby's. they usually carry generic brand boards that are very cheap though i'm not sure how much they are exactly. for the shoes, since you're just starting out, i would suggest to get whatever is comfy for you. you don't have to worry about the height of the shoe, or the soles, or whatever. whatever you do though, don't get canvas shoes like vans slip ons or authentics/eras. they easily rip when you start doing tricks and they are very unstable if you are just starting out joyriding too. it would be best to get suede shoes since those are built for getting damaged. the wider the shoe, the more grip you have on the board so you might want to consider that. cheapest places to buy shoes are in skateshops of course. i'd suggest the lesser known shops. try these sites. don't worry, they are very trusted. flipskates.multiply.com skategoodies.multiply.com now for the board there are 2 main choices. you can either get the regular skate board or a long board. long boards are much better for simply joyriding and cruising around since they are a lot more stable and easy to ride around with. skate boards aren't as good for cruising around but you still can though. for me they are more mobile because of their size and tricks are easier to perform. the two boards have different tricks to learn. skate board tricks are either vert or street. vert tricks makes use of ramps and pipes while street tricks are tricks like grinding, manuals, small gaps, etc. long board tricks are more on flat land and manouvering around well with the board like making sharp carves and slides, dancing on the board, nose riding etc. one advantage the skate board has over the long board is that you can ride pipes easier. for the long board, you can ride downhill really fast while staying very stable.
