Can you describe the Filipino Style Table Service?

Filipino Style Table Service is simply prepared. Plates are set the usual and we use spoon and fork sometime with bare hands. Food are placed at the center of the table, sometimes complete (chicken, fish, veggies, beef, pork) in different styles of cooking. Rice must definitely be there. There is a saucer for each one where we put condiments appropriate for the food(fish sauce, vinegar, kalamansi(lemon for some) or tomatoes).

Our table settings vary according to the setting / locations, financial status and event . If for Average Filipino Family dining at home , we are very simple , Foods are laid out in their serving trays if dry and with sauce with serving laddle , fish/ meat with soup in big serving soup bowls with serving laddle , , the steamed rice (sinaing in tagalog) is laid out also in a ceramic oblong plate , all laid out in the middle of the table . Each member has a ceramic or melamine plate , spoon on the right and fork on the left .Usually all our fruits usually ripe banana or desserts like sweet yam made into jam are in the farther end of the table where the drinking glasses and pitcher of water is also placed . All are pass along as each member request for it either to their maid(helper ) or to the nearest to the food or glass they like. Good to note , we have these preference to have a 1.5 liter bottle of Coke / Diet Coke or Ice Nestea mix in a Nestea Shaker bottle . For those farmers who decided to partake of their food for lunch in the farm field , foods from home are usually arrange and wrapped in a banana leaf passed on a charcoal or fire to make it pliable , the meals is composed of mound of steamed rice with chicken adobo ( adobo is cooked with these recipe , cut up chicken with liver and gizzard , cleaned and washed thoroughly , add minced garlic , peppercorns , ratio of 1black soy sauce to 2 vinegar , pour them into the meat , bay leaf , mix them thoroughly , then boil them together until meat is coming off the bones and sauce has diminish and viscous) fresh tomatoes and peeled boiled egg. Then a piece of ripe banana , with Coconut water fresh from coconut tree as their refreshment and then bottles of water . The farmers wash their hands and eat using their right hands. This is called "kamayan" using of hands to eat , this is a happy occasion among the farmers because as they are with their group and happy sharing stories as they bring mouthful of food to their mouth . There will be laughing and joking while they eat together..These camaraderie among workers are same in all launches among workers in the field as well as construction sites.
