The Philippines is hot and humid year-round. The weather pattern across the archipelago is complex, but can be roughly divided into the dry season (September to May) and the wet season (June to September). There is little seasonal variation in most places with average highs and lows of around 31°C (87°F) and 24°C (76°F) respectively. The best time to visit is between December and May when slightly cooler and drier conditions prevail. (--,)

it is actually best to visit us on an april or may..... no school, beach is a real fun party..... the best place to go is boracay but it also depends on how much you have for the budget......

As a Filipino, i felt like January to February has a cold wheather in my country. I remember using hot and cold water for bathing during these months. Though its been said that its cold during rainy seasons, its only cold when raining and temperature is hot again after the rain lol! You can find good 3 star hotels in makati and manila area which are just fair in price. I am a travel agent here and i can send you choices of hotel to stay with nice rooms , clean facilities and fair price, of course AC. Pls send mail to [email protected]

if your wife is a filipina, why not ask her instead? or you can wire her family in the philippines and ask the best time for your planned vacation. lol.

The rainy season begins June down to October. There are lots of affordable and convenient hotels that you can stay with. The rates in Makati area are from P2,300 to US$130. In Manila from P1,800 to US$100. Or its better you stay in Tagaytay, Banaue or Baguio. Thats the coolest place in the Philippines You can contact JLT Travel at (632) 3631139 or 3657602 for hotel recommendation & special discounted rates.

If you want it cold, you can visit the Philippines from October to December (since it's the Holiday season... surprisingly, it was really cold here even in January... But, I think it's because the winds from Siberia were directed here). If you're a beach person, you can go around April and May since that's summer. Since you mentioned that you don't like the heat, you can go here around June, or July. That's when the rainy season starts. So, the weather should be better. Or sometime August.

It is always warm in the Philippines, even during the rainy or monsoon season. September is the end of rainy season and maybe the best time to go to your wife's province. You may have the chance to enjoy the beach and other places with a bit cooler temperature.

This is a tropical country so there are no pronounced seasons. It's always hot and humid no matter when you go, but avoid the summer vacation months because that's when the weather gets warmest (March to May). There are many hotels in Makati that will not charge as much as the Peninsula does. We tried Copa Businessmen's Hotel along Arnaiz St. last year and it was really good, clean, reasonably priced. Enjoy your next trip. Bring only light clothing and short pants.

If you don't feel like asking your wife, I can tell you to avoid June through September since it tends to be rainy season. I prefer January through May since it tends to be drier, and school is out, which means that all of the family will be around when you visit. I always worry that I'll catch some respiratory illness because I'm breathing moist air w/ pathogens I'm not used to beathing in the States. I managed not to get sick on my last trip, but I always seem to pick something up on every trip previous, and always worry about the kids picking something up. Just a hazard of the trip, but nothing to get scared about. Heat will always be an issue, esp in Manila. Take it easy, drink water, be judicious about going in and out of A/C buildings.
