What Is My IP Adress?

What will my lap top from U.S.A need or will i have to change IP adress when i go to the philippines?

  • Doese it atomatically pick up new IP adress when you connect to the enternet or will i have to change IP adress? If so how do I change IP adress?

  • Answer:

It will automatically pick up the IP address so you can use your laptop right away. The only thing you should check is the power plug, If your lappy has 3-Prong , then you should get a power plug adapter which is very cheap there and can be found anywhere. http://www.p-wholesale.com/upimg/17/146a2/power-plug-and-adapters-176.jpg Also, Philippines has 220 V.

Other answers

The other poster is correct, when you boot up your laptop and connect to the internet your ip will be that of the local isp. Also correct is that you'll need an adapter if you have a three prong cord so that you can plug into a two prong receptacle. About the 220 though. Most modern laptops run on both 110 or 220 without changing anything. Mine does and it's 4 years old now. Check your plug, it should say 100v-240v. If it does, don't sweat the 220, you're good to go.

I brought laptops from UK and Canada to the Philippines and another laptop from USA to Canada to Philippines, it all worked well, no changes done...worked just fine.
