How can we get a person banned from yahoo answers?
-
if we press "report abuse" to these offending questions, does yahoo do something about it?
-
Answer:
@wrestler gave a good answer & normally as a number of people have already said, their account will be suspended but they can just resurrect using another account. Now getting them banned is different, if they are yapping from the Philippines, then they will fall under the supervision of Jonas (Yahoo Community Manager) & you can directly email him & he can do something about it. Send me a message, if you want his email address.

The technical answer is that if that person is reported by several members of good reputation (by Yahoo standards), then his offensive questions will be deleted. And when this happens a lot, the account will be deleted by Yahoo. Having said that, I suggest that you loosen up and just ignore those derogatory/discriminatory questions. They will not go away, and I say this from years of being here. You can report them, and when they are banned, they can just as easily open another account and continue with their mission. To annoy you even more, their new account can have exactly the same name and avatar. Live and let live.

No. But Crom, the God of Connan, will strike them down with furious anger and they shall rue the day they offended thee on Yahoo Answers!

I don't think we can or else icy twinkle toes would be gone as he insults every body Pinoys & Americans . This is a person that needs to get a life. Answers is to help other people not a place to insult Philippinos or any body else.

Please understand that Yahoo will only delete questions/answers and possibly even ban a user if they have clearly and habitually violated the Yahoo Terms of Service--and not just because they "put FIlipinos down". If you REALLY wanted to TRULY stop these "discriminatory" comments from others, how about removing the events and circumstances (e.g., corruption, poverty, colonial mentality) observed by the offending parties that lead to them making these comments? UPDATE: Hmmm...Count Dracoops below is espousing advice that reminds me of the conspiratorial behaviors of a previous generation of pathetic trolls. Who are/were you before?

I presume that you are referring to 'ice' If you get about 3 or 4 Yappers to report all his/her questions and answers (only those that are in obvious violation) then eventually his account will be terminated BUT that is not the end of the story. I think that he is already on his 4th account. Even that impish Gro (God bless her soul) is probably on her 10th account. So you see there really is no point.

if you report abuse, i think all they do is remove the question and then maybe keep track of how many abusive questions they have posted. maybe if they put too many, then they will be punished, possibly even banned. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/ this might help answer your question
