Is Nepal a good country to live in?

Nepal long stay options ?

  • I've been one in Nepal and love it so much that I wanted to learn more about the country. Thus I am moving to Nepal in January to do research for my Masters. I will be working with an NGO in an area between Thamel and the Palace and would like to walk/cycle to the office. Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice area to live? Does anyone have suggestions for finding possible roomates? I am a female in my mid-30s who enjoys trekking, yoga, dinner parties and such. I would like to live in a safe area near restaurants and markets... and hopefully internet access at home, but not in a place that is bouncing off the walls with disco music :D Thank you for the advice. Namaste.

  • Answer:

Try Lazimpat/Gairidhara. Both safe places, near to restaurants and so on. You need to go to the outskirts for trekking though. Room partner? Good luck with that.
