Why URDU speakers not familiar in muslims of Kerala?

Please don't take it me wrong, I just want to share a knowledge not to fight or argue about word Allah?

  • please forgive me if I'm wrong but this is what I read and understand In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful About the word Allah? In the Arabic Language, the word "ilah", means god, diety, and supreme being. The word "al ", means "the" (the definite article). "Al ilah ", therefore means "the god". The word "Allah", is the combined form of "al ilah ", and simply means "The GOD". The word "Allah" is the proper name of "The God" in the Arabic language. http://www.home.earthlink.net/~halimcisse/aboutword-2.html beside that please read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allah Allah (Arabic: الله‎, Allāh, Turkish: Allah, IPA: [ʔalˤːɑːh] ( listen)) is the standard Arabic word for God.[1] While the term is best known in the West for its use by Muslims as a reference to God, it is used by Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews, in reference to "God".[1][2][3] The term was also used by pagan Meccans as a reference to the creator-god, possibly the supreme deity in pre-Islamic Arabia.[4] In other scripts and languages Allah in other languages with Arabic script is spelled in the same way. This includes Urdu, Persian/Dari, Uyghur among others.

Of course the world Allah means God to the Arabs and to many others and it has been around even before the Islamic religion introduced by Prophet Mohammad. However that's the simplest and most general definition of Allah. This polemic arise in Malaysia because of sensitivities attached to the world Allah. To the Muslim Malays in Malaysia, (notice I use Muslim Malays in Malaysia, because this sensitivity occurs among the Malays in Malaysia) the word Allah is always assumed to be only appropriately used to describe God as being defined in Islamic understanding. To a Muslim Allah in only one God and he is not born neither has an offspring. The Christians belief Jesus is Son of God and other religions belief there are Gods for different purposes (forgive me if I'm wrong.) So on that basis the Muslims refuse to accept the word Allah to be generalised as God because they think there is a fundamental distinction which gives different implication in their faith. That's my simplest explanation. Of course there are other deeper explanations which cannot be explained in this social forum and also I'm not qualified to do so for my lack of Islamic knowledge. This issue is best not discussed here. Of course there are interested parties (the politicians and the fanatics) who like to take advantage. A better forum would be an open face-to-face discussion attended by the learned scholars.

yep, thats right...<3

I think it's ashame that a few people that misuse their religion make it tough on the rest of you. I don't believe that everyone who is a part of Islam are terrorists( I have an arab friend who is more gentle in his mind than mine is).
