Are Indian citizens required a Schengen visa when in transit?

Is transit visa required for Indian nationals in LCCT,Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia?

• I am flying with airasia but I have to change the flights at KL as there is no direct flight available from Vietnam to Delhi. So I booked 2 tickets from Vietnam to KL and then from KL to Delhi by Air Asia. So can anyone tell me if i need any transit Visa in KL or not?If i have baggage and if i dont have baggage.Does it make any difference? -Ritesh

  2 weeks ago I caught a connecting flight with Airasia and had to wait at KL LCCT. You don't need a transit visa if you are waiting in the Airport for your next flight. No foreigner needs to get a transit Visa in this type of instance. You only need to get one if leaving the terminal for any period of time such as changing airports. PLEASE NOTE: Make sure you tell the Air Asia staff when checking in that you are transferring to another flight. Even better, call Air Asia now and advise them of this before you fly. That way you do not have to collect the baggage in KL then check in again and you do not have to go through customs and deal with Visa in KL. You simply go to the transfer lounge, and they send you back into the departure area for your next flight. They will transfer your luggage to your final destination. 2 months ago I made the mistake of not telling them that I am transferring to another flight to Vietnam and I had to go through customs and collect my baggage, then go through the process of checking in again. enjoy :-)
