Help On USPS Priority Mail International!!?

  • Here the problem, I bid an item from ebay.com.my for an item, a video game (+free headset by seller). The seller packed the thing and sent the item using USPS Priority Mail International. He says that it's insured and available for tracking with the custom code eg: CP123456789US is given to me. When I try to track it in www.usps.com this is what I get: Class: Priority Mail International Parcels Service(s): International Parcels Status: Acceptance Your item was accepted at 11:37 AM on July 13, 2010 in ASBURY PARK, NJ 07712. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later. I have been looking at this item from the day the sender send me the custom code, and I was looking for about 15 days by now and it doesn't move at all, I try to ask the sender but he just say your item should be there soon and the tracking should be working. Thats the last message I get from him about 2 days ago. I was worried that I could not get the item and I'm stucked. I tried to call my local post (Pos Malaysia) yesterday and they say that there isn't any parcel with the code arrived in Malaysia, aren't the parcel suppose to be sent out 6-10 working days? I try to contact USPS from my country but it seems it has been blocked and I could not make the calls. Anyone could give me some advice what can I do right now?

    USPS is the most economical way to send packages internationally, so the vendors used this method to save more money or shall I say profit. Anyway, your tracking number is correct and you know that the vendors send the package already on your behalf and its on the way to your country. By this method of shipping it takes a little longer than you expect so be patient it will arrive soon. On any case that you have not receive the merchandise after 30 days you can dispute this to ebay for not receiving the merchandise. But before doing it so try to resolve with the vendors the best possible way. If you used PayPal as a payee your money is safe and it will refunded in full amount to you. Good luck! PS. Im sorry its my mistake. They 30 days is for the ebay not paypal. Paypal is the safest way to pay your merchadise in ebay

Aimdeep: Huh? I thought its within 45 days? Did Paypal change it already? ___________________________ I usually get the items within 2 weeks to a month through that method. It also depends on certain things like whether its air mail (fast) or surface mail (the slowest), is the item worth 500 ringgit (including shipping) because that when customs come in to tax you and they would hold the item/items until you pay the tax (10%-30%). I try not to buy anything that has to do with electronics too because I heard that these items are the ones most likely to be stolen by postal services or customs (on ebay forums). Oh yes, if the video game is pirated, customs will confiscated it. Some guy on ebay say its better to make friends aka get to know the people in the customs as they would be more likely to not steal your items. But I have yet to do this because of transportation problems. Edit: OIC, Hmm, but any package delivery requires your signature or at least someone in your house signature. One other possible reason (other than being late) is that the postman simply forgot to put a message when no one was in your home when he/she arrived. Some Malaysian ebayer experience this and finally got it one month extra after waiting for 2 months and ask the refund earlier (eventually paid back the seller)
