Answer:
RM10 is a reasonable charge. It is still within the affordability of most families. Some might feel it is a little on the high side for standard 1 students but actually teaching older students is much easier than teaching younger students especially standard 1 students. The subjects you teach may easy but to teach to Standard 1 students effectively so that they can understand and focus on the subjects is definitely not that easy. Therefore the fee that you charge is reasonable. However for the fee you charge for one to one class, it's fine at RM12 but it is still ok if you were to add in another RM2-RM3. In today society, sometimes you cannot charge too cheap , say RM5 per hour otherwise you will lose your credibility. Parents these day are comparing and boasting on how much they spend on their children tuition classes. They think that paying higher mean getting better quality teachers and paying cheap mean getting "desperate" and not so good teachers. At the same time, students ( perhaps not applicable to standard one students yet ) will appreciate more and pay more attention if their parents pay more for their tutions, I am not encouraging you to charge exorbitant fees but the fees that are deemed as average as in your case now.

No No No....it is not OK to bring young children into your bed room.....even if to teach them.....people may think unmentionble thoughts....it ay even be illegal.....In the UK, or US, you may be jailed for a serious offence. Now, as for tuition fees, if you take on all 2 or 3 a the same time, RM10 per student per hour seems to be a bit on the low side....try RM15 to RM20.....and for one to one, RM25....on a dining table in the living hall. If your accommodation is only your bed room.....be very careful to avoid misunderstanding...because these children are under age, I am quite sure you may have committed some "statutory" offence.....[meaning, even if you have not done it,you are guilty...]
