Answer:
Penang is known as food paradise in Malaysia. Nyonya, Chinese, vegetarian, Indian, Malay, Hakka-styled Western, seafood and desserts. Hybrids are also known to exist, and some famous examples are Malay style chicken rice and char koay teow, and Chinese satay and nasi lemak. Prices are cheap and reasonable. Nasi kandar is famously popular with Penangites, and many restaurants selling it are well known not only to those on the island but those in other states as well. But if you want to taste the international cuisine in Penang, you can try these places. 1. Italian : La Farfalla at Penang Mutiara Beach Resort; Little Italy at Pulau Tikus 2. Japanese: Teppan-Yaki in Tajung Tokong Ichiban Restaurant at The Gurney 3. Thai: Golden Thai at Gurney Drive Sawadee at Sri Bahari Road 4. Western: The Ship Steakhouse at Batu Ferringghi Victoria Station at Bayan Baru

every body taste/preference are different, so you got to try for yourself all those food available in Malaysia, simply because there are so many variety to choose from n its cheap too ! but make sure you visit those cleaned eatery/restaurant ! one tip is that just follow the crowd, where there are many people gathering a food centre mean its serving good food ! take note also that the same food that served at the hotel or established restaurant are more expensive than those from food/hawker centre but not necessary taste better !

hi there it depends on what you're looking for. I would recommend Stephens Corner for Indian, Mamak stall (all over the place) for really tasty, cheap Indian Muslim food. There are LOADS of Chinese restaurants around and nowadays, around temples, there are so many lovely veggie restaurant, serving lots of soya "meat". Malaysia is HEAVEN for food.... Enjoy... Cj

Some of my favorite food place: restaurant: Madam Kwans - got one in KLCC and Midvalley Megamall. It serves nyonya food. There's another nyonya restaurant in Mont Kiara, I forgot the name but the food there is delicious. There's a nice Bah Kuh Teh restaurant in One Utama and the price is just rice. Hawker food, Penang got the best hawker food in Malaysia but in KL, I would say Petaling Street though a bit expensive. PJ uptown also got a great place to eat. Coffeshop, go to any mamak stall or go to Domes or Starbuck. Bangsar also got a lot of place to eat and drink.
