Answer:
That's what I like. A quick and fast question. :) OK, to be honest, you have so many things going on here that it is easier just to refer you to a site that specializes in computer questions such as yours. I have provided the llink below. Since I am here let me suggest a few things first. Don't give up on trying to clean your present hard drive. Visit the site in the second link and run their free virus/trojan scan. At the end they will give you a list of what is wrong and where the problems are. Copy the list to your computer and then open it again with your Windows software. That way you will be able to see the entire location of each problem. Then it is a matter of tracking them down and deleting them. Except sometimes it is not that easy. The next link is to a free virus software program that is extremely popular. The free version does not catch everything but will get you started and will do the dirty work for you. Download the program, install it, and get it running. If you decide to get a new hard drive and make it your boot drive you are going to have to have a copy of Windows XP. You can find a new one for less than $100 by doing a search online. You will want to remove your old hard drive from the computer or at least disconnect it from the motherboard. The problem you are going to have in copying your old files to the new hard drive is that you will also be transfering the viruses. And that takes us back to the idea that you first need to see if you can rid the old drive of its problems. No matter how bad the viruses are there exist anti virus software which can track them down and eliminate them. And they are cheaper than buying a copy of Windows XP. Other than that you really have too many questions for this forum. Go to the first link I gave and see what they can do for you. Good luck.
