What are the SM Entertainment auditions like?

Is there any chance that SM Entertainment will hold auditions in SEA?

  • Well, hi~! I'm Zairene of the Philippines and I'm going 14 this Jan. 8, 2010, I'm using my cousin's account to ask this question. I, actually, wanna join SM Entertainment really bad. But I haven't heard of them holding auditions in the RotP (Republic of the Philippines). And my friend and I wanna go to auditions badly but the traveling thing makes us think twice and we don't really know how to speak, read or write Hangul. I mean, yeah I can sing, dance and act, my looks are fine but COME ON! Korea? Really? Me? 13 (going 14) going to Korea ALONE? My parents don't have that much time. URGH...I wish they'd hold auditions here in the Phil. really soon...by 2010.

We have the same birthday!!! :) I live in SEA too, i really hope they come- i wanna be an SM trainee so badd . I'm very excited to audition. They came to Thailand, Malaysia, SIngapore, Indonesia in 2007 but i'm not sure if they are coming this year 2010. It said on their main website that they came to SEA in 2009 though. they have their global auditions in Korea so maybe they'll come. Even if they don't go to the Philippines, or if they don't come to SEA I'm planning to send my stuff through email. You can send through post or email. According to the main sm audition site, http://audition.smtown.com/ to send it by email you do this: 1) name age school, etc. 2) specialities (what you are auditioning for) 3) you send in your singing and your dancing in video for post its the same thing but it costs money to ship it though and its by tape. personally if i were you I would send it through email, and then try out again in one of the countries in SEA if they do come. you have 3 options 1) email 2) post tape audition 3) go to another coutnry when they set up auditions in 2010 Also, you don't need to know Korean to get into SM entertainment. Like peopel say its 80% looks, 20% talent. They value looks because they believe that talent can be made. They teach you Korean so you'll probably be fluent by the timme you debut. its not a requirement to know Korean but it definetly is a plus.

SM Entertainment is really corrupted. They always have band members suing them for taking away a large part of their earnings or unfair contract agreements. One recent example is DBSK.
