SM Entertainment Auditions and Life as a Trainee?
-
I have been thinking about auditioning for JYP, YG, or SM but SM is my first choice. I have a ton of questions but I've seen a ton of different answers for different people so I'd thought I'd ask them here. Please be honest and don't worry about being mean. So here I go:) 1. Age: I am 14 but I will be fifteen in a few months and I plan to audition in maybe next year or the year after when I'm 16-17. Will I be too old then cause a lot of idols started training younger? 2. Audition: Which would be better: global or weekly auditions in LA? I think in weekly they look at you more carefully but in global you'll auditionn with hundreds of other people so you'll have to stand out more. I'm thinking about weekly but I'm not sure so just advice would be okay. 3. Trainee: How long do trainees normally train? I'm a decent singer but I definately need some training. I'm good at dancing and I can follow choreography easily. And since I'm Korean American, will I live in a dorm with other trainees who speak English because I know basic Korean but I'm not fluent. And I know SM sends you to an international school but does anyone know the specific school?

1. Age: I am 14 but I will be fifteen in a few months and I plan to audition in maybe next year or the year after when I'm 16-17. Will I be too old then cause a lot of idols started training younger? you won't be too old......too old is around 18 maybe you'll be lucky and debut earlier 2. Audition: Which would be better: global or weekly auditions in LA? I think in weekly they look at you more carefully but in global you'll auditionn with hundreds of other people so you'll have to stand out more. I'm thinking about weekly but I'm not sure so just advice would be okay. both is okay.....just make sure you're not last....they barely look at you 3. Trainee: How long do trainees normally train? I'm a decent singer but I definately need some training. I'm good at dancing and I can follow choreography easily. And since I'm Korean American, will I live in a dorm with other trainees who speak English because I know basic Korean but I'm not fluent. And I know SM sends you to an international school but does anyone know the specific school? if you need to study more korean, they send you to Korea Kent, like SNSD Tiffany or Jessica SOME ADVICE: they train you A LOT of years if you're not fluent. SNSD Jessica trained for 8 YEARS! and even if you do get in, only a select number of people debut. My friend trained for 6 years and didn't debut Are you sure you want to try out for SM? JYP, YG or CUBE are less strict...... it's almost impossible to get into SM unless you're really good at singing AND dancing

hi there ^^ 1. not really, actually they still accept people in 10-18 as i know. 2. good thinking. yes, i think it's better. since global, many people will try to that chance too. 3. usually it's take 2-8 years. if you improve well maybe you'll debut soon. and yes, you will live with the other trainee in their dorm. i just know the name KKFS, Korean Kent Foreign School.

1. I'm fourteen going onto fifteen this year, too :D I'm turning fifteen in March. No, you wouldn't be too old, but it's better to start young. 2. Weekly would be better because there's more of a chance that you'll be chosen because there'll be less people for them to compare you with. Even judges are humans. 3. The average number of years people train is about four years in SM. You'll be in a dorm with a practice group, which is a group of trainees put together to test out their connections and see who you should debut with. I think the school would be a school specifically for SM trainees. Correct me if i'm wrong<?> GOOD LUCK :D

1. SM prefers it when you start training at a younger age because they can mold you into a better idol that way and also because then they can have you get plastic surgery and say that you only look different because you went through puberty or lost a lot of baby fat. However, there are many idols who auditioned at 18 or 19 like Hangeng and Heechul. 2. Weekly auditions because there will be less people and it goes by faster. Tons of ppl show up to global auditions and one of my friends got there at 5 am and she still had to wait for nearly 2 hours. 3. You train until you prove to them that you're good enough to be an idol so it depends on your talent. It also depends on whether or not they're ready to debut any new groups yet. Since you're not fluent in Korean they will give you lessons and you will most likely attend Korea Kent Foreign School.

1. Age: I am 14 but I will be fifteen in a few months and I plan to audition in maybe next year or the year after when I'm 16-17. Will I be too old then cause a lot of idols started training younger? No, you wouldn't be too old. That age is fine. It just this: the older you are the more talen you're going to need to be accepted; because if you're younger you have more time to train and imrpove, you see? 2. Audition: Which would be better: global or weekly auditions in LA? I think in weekly they look at you more carefully but in global you'll auditionn with hundreds of other people so you'll have to stand out more. I'm thinking about weekly but I'm not sure so just advice would be okay. Weekly. I wish I had the chance to go to the weekly ones, tons of people go to global ones. (This was for JYP, but when their auditions came down to Australia, literally thousands of people turned up, me included). Judges are human too, so I would reccommend weekly auditions. 3. Trainee: How long do trainees normally train? I'm a decent singer but I definately need some training. I'm good at dancing and I can follow choreography easily. It depends on when they think you're ready for debut. You need more than just talent in singing and dancing, you need star quality as well; charisma, confidence, etc. And since I'm Korean American, will I live in a dorm with other trainees who speak English because I know basic Korean but I'm not fluent. Most definitely, yes. And I know SM sends you to an international school but does anyone know the specific school? The school would most likely be Korea's International school KENT. I found a wiki link for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_Kent_Foreign_School Haha, they have so many famous people who attended it xD
