Hello! Project or Kpop? Why is everyone so obsessed with Kpop now?

  • Why is that all of the sudden everyone likes Kpop? I see all these Kpop videos on youtube that have like 2 million views and over. I'm just like "How the hell?" I personally love my girls in Hello! Project (Jpop group) and I don't understand why not many people are giving them a chance! Before if you said you listened to asian music people would think you're a freak and now it's like "OMG KPOP! SNSD AND BIG BANG!" Well just don't get why now that Asian music is becoming more popular in america it HAS to be Kpop! I wish that everyone would be going crazy over Hello! Project like Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou, C-ute, S/mileage, Erina Mano, etc! They're all amazing and deserve to get as much as attention as all these Kpop groups are getting. I saw some people said that the outfits and beat in Kpop songs catch people's eyes and I'm like "But, H!P is JUST LIKE THEM just japanese!" Someone who hasn't even heard of any of my groups that I liked from Hello! Project, go look them up! They are amazing and very talented girls that are ages 14-mid 20's. Someone please explain what is the big deal with Kpop when it's exactly the same as Jpop, yet Kpop has gotten more attention. H!P = LIFE&LOVE<3

    i know how you feel~ i love C-ute. And Toma-kun is my one and only crush ^^, kyaaaa~! and talking about beautiful outfits, nothing can beat l'arc en ciel.. answerers before me said that their voice (kpop groups) are not chipmunked or whatev but only natural. yeah seriously, it's stupid. it's obvious that eventho they can dance and sing live, their voice are never good on stage. and they always have background voices to cover them. i mean hello, we have singers here in my country whom can dance way better that SNSD and still sounds great. and guess what? they only have background music and no background voice, even at the chorus part. you wanna argue about plastic surgery?? huh fark it. hollywood, bollywood, jpop, kpop, cpop, whatever wood n pop ya wanna name, almost all of them are plastic. it's the truth. and that's why we like 'em. because we DON'T care. ok guys lets face it. both kpop and jpop are equally great, and suck too. and sorry bout the bashing on SNSD. tho it hurts me to say things about 'em. as i'm a really dedicated sone.. p/s: so fish it~ xD

What I don't like about Jpop is that with the girls their voices are either chipmunk or really deep. You can either barely hear them or they kind of yodel the words. But what I like with Kpop is that there's more of a variety, they can sing better, and the guys are hot. ;DD Oh yeah... AND THEY DANCE!!!! vvvv Not neccessarily, anime and japanese clothing is still really popular. And I would love to go to Japan because it's very beautiful, and I would also like to go to Seoul in Korea. I think they're equally as popular. Japan is popular for it's anime, cute accessories, etc., while Korea is popular for the music and drama shows ~ ;D

I've actually been wondering this too. J-POP and C-POP have been around for so long and most of them haven't made it anywhere outside their countries and K-POP comes out of nowhere and take over and the next second they've made it to US don't get me wrong i love K-POP but it's weird how they just take over. I personally think K-POP is a bit overrated but these days is all about looks i guess

Hi, because it's so various. it has most of music genres in it: consisting of electronic, hip hop, pop, rock, and R&B. so you never get tired of it. the other reason are k-pop singers: there is not just their dance styles and the brave way they dress, and their hair style. THE OTHER reason is that kpop stars do not only sing. they also have so many reality shows and TV appearances (like SS501's "thank you for waking me up" and SuJu's" full house"). they don't have any fear of saying their feelings in front of camera. for example, is there any show on TV: an MC woman comes into other countries' star's house suddenly and without permission and wake them up with force! (as it is in SS501's "thank you for waking me up") unlike the other countries' stars [and also j pop and American], it seems they want people to know so much about their way of living, their habits and their feelings and of course not everything about their personal lives, just as much as it shows they are human too! so fans feel like they are really close to them, like a family member.

I mean I think that kpop is better because of beats and the young new bands popping out every other week and the variety shows that they all go on and show us their personality. I haven't really that much watched interviews with morning musume because i dont like jpop but they just seem so serious. Kpop boy bands and girl bands joke around and have fun on the shows. i like kpop because its something that i can invest myself into and go to concerts where everyone likes the same thing you do.
