What Korean dramas should I watch?

  • Hi :) I'm a beginner in the Korean drama department. I've been in love with K-Pop for a year, and the whole Korean culture. Unfortunately I just decided to get into the dramas now. So far I've only watched Boys Over Flowers (I'm about half way through and I'm absolutely ADDICTED. It's the best show ever!). I need a few dramas that I can watch once I'm done with Boys Over Flowers that can live up to Boys Over Flowers. Because I feel like no other show will beat this one xD Also, what are the basic dramas that everyone who are into K-Dramas watch? I knew Boys Over Flowers was one of them, because I heard about it so much. In terms of genre of the drama... ahh, I'll give anything a chance. I like romance though, who doesn't Thanks so much :) (Please don't give me a list of 100000 dramas, I won't get to them all xD... Just name the top 3-5 please).

    hiii :] i'll name top 3 for mee, haha. ...knowing me, i'll probably end up adding a couple in at the end x_x [1] YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL - oh my gooodnessss, never has a drama made me cry and laugh as much as this one! i love the plot [it's kind of like Boys Before Flowers] and the cast! it has Hongki from FT Island and Yonghwa from CN Blue. you're beautiful is really good <3 i finished it in 3 days LOL my girlfriend is a nintale fox is also pretty good, but i only recently started it my girl is hilarious goong (princess hours) finished in 5 days. ;) i also like shining inheritance. check them out ;D

All-Around Drama: You're Beautiful LOVE THIS. What can I say?! It has everything a drama needs! :D It features Lee Hongki of FT Island and Jung Yong Hwa of CN Blue :)) Action Drama: IRIS You will adore this show because it is not only a spy and "mission impossible" show but also has intense drama and romance. Also T.O.P of Big Bang features in this :) Romantic: Personal Taste New but completed :) This drama is amazing because it's a both romantic and comical story and approaches love stories a bit differently. Its like a realistic love story but with the added touch of a fairytale. Less-Romantic (BUT AMAZING): King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo Fairly new and completed. The story for this drama is one of the best I've seen and the characters are amazing and well-picked. Highly Recommended. Personal favorite: Stairway to Heaven This is an old drama but is the best one I have seen. This is way more romantic than Personal Taste and was the first one to make me cry (I'm a male). The drama and story are absolutely well-placed. SUPER Recommended.

My current top 3 will be - You're Beautiful (미남이시네요) The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal, Tae Kyung's voice was hurting. However,the new member, Mi Nam, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Mi Nyu,to stand in for him and pretend that she was her brother. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mi Nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother. (took this from drama wiki...=D) this is strongly recommended. You will go thru an emotional roller coaster watching this. You will laugh , cry and feel sooo fustrated. But there is no way you will not like the show. ^^ - SungKyunKwan Scandal (성균관 스캔들) Sungkyunkwan Scandal is set in Sungkyunkwan University in the late Joseon era during the reign of King Jeongjo, revolving around the exploits and love stories of four youths. When her younger brother's illness worsens and their family is in danger of being evicted from their house for lack of money, Kim Yoon Hee enters the school under his name, disguised as a boy in her desperation to support him. There, she becomes friends with the intelligent and upright Lee Sun Joon, the playboy Goo Yong Ha and rebellious Moon Jae Shin. (took this from drama wiki...=D) i'm halfway thru this, but it is intresting so far and it doesn't hurt that there are so many pretty boys in the show. Esp. the male lead , Micky Yoochun from DBSK ... - You are my destiny (너는 내 운명 ) Jang Sae Byuk is a a girl who tries to find a new meaning in life after she receives an eye cornea transplant from the doctor that took care of her after her accident. That doctor, Kim Na Young, died in a car accident on her way back from Africa. Sae Byuk becomes close with the Na Young's family after finding them. The family slowly accepts her as part of the family. Kang Ho Se and Kim Tae Poong, Na Young's twin brother, have disliked each other since they were young kids. This is mostly Tae Poong hates Ho Se because Ho Se's family was rich and because Tae Poong's father was Ho Se's father's driver and his mother was the maid. (took this from drama wiki...=D) this can get a little draggy at times and is kinda long, as each episode is only 20mins . but i hanged on till the end and was quite pleased with the ending .
