Traveling With Your Pet to Korea?

• My husband and I are moving to Korea this year for work purpose, and I was wondering if anyone could give me information about traveling with pets from the US to Korea. I have gotten information, such as what vaccinations my dog needs. What to do for traveling needs...but will my pet need to be quarantined when I arrive over there? And is the 14hr trip really worth it? Any other information you think would be helpful would be, I would appreciate it. I am not moving over there permanently either. It will only be for two years...which is why I ask if the 14hr trip will really be worth it. Thank you very much

  You are going to be there for 2 years and you are complaining about the 14hr flight? uh... Yes it's worth it. It's only 14 hrs. If you can't handle that.. how are you suppose to handle living abroad? You'll need to bring documents about their rabies shot and quarrantine/health certificate from a vet and declare them when you arrive. I'm pretty sure your dog will have to be in quarrantine for a whle, but I don't think it should be any extended time period. For better info... you should call the Korean Embassy in your country and talk with them about it. They can answer any questions. ----->EDIT: Okay, I understand. You should give your dog a mild sedative if the vet allows which will calm them down for the flight... but they will be fine. My father breeds dogs and has had champions shipped from France and Spain and Newfoundland and they've all done fine. So don't worry about your dog.
