How difficult is it for a Filipina to get a tourist visa for Korea? Your help is appreciated.?

I am a Filipina, living in the Philippines. I just got an approval from my boss for a 2-month vacation leave . I plan to go to Korea as a tourist. I have a Korean friend who is inviting me. She doesn't know details about how a Filipino can get tourist visa. All she knows is it is difficult. For anyone who has experience getting one, please share with me how you processed your tourist visas for Korea.....Thank you so so much. --- Ms. Jane

I am an American teaching in Korea. I have an E 2 work visa. My wife is from the Philippines. Last month she wanted to visit me on a tourists visa. She was denied the easiest visa out there. A tourists visa. Now that we have married our chances are pretty good she can come here on a F3 Accompanying Spouse Visa. They would not tell us why she was denied but I did talk with others with similar cases. Were were told if a female between the ages of 21 and 40 apply most times they are just denied. The Korean government fear that once in Korea you will flee and not return to your home country. Even with strong ties and proof of the ties it is very difficult to get here. My wife has plenty of money in the bank and a government Job from Phil. who gave her a letter showing she had a 30 days leave vacation. She owns property and has family there as well. Still they denied her. This is the info I have been told and want to pass it on. I hope this mentality changes and you get to come. Good luck. I hope it gives you some insight.
