Sm auditions for composers help!?

  • SM auditions help-composers!? a) Is it hard to audition and become a trainee composer under SM? b) What training do they give for composers? c) What exactly are they looking for in composers? d) is there anything I can do as a composer that would be a plus point when I audition to be a trainee composer? e) when I audition online, I have to send a tape to them right? If I'm trying out for the composers position, what do I have to send to them? Just the lyrics of my song? Or do I have to send them the whole song, recorded with singing and music? What do I have to include in my audition email? f) is it hard for composers to get into sm? Do you know anyone who's undergoing or are already working for sm as composers? What's it like?

  • Answer:

For composers all you do is walk into the audition, hand in your song/lyrics and leave. They dont give training to composers, you have to be good already and SM hires big names so the chances of you being a composer is slim. What theyre looking for in composers is something new and different, things that can be the next "Sorry Sorry" or "Gee" Most likely when you are debuting SM WONT let you sing what you composed, but if you are promising and succesful they most likely will let you. Im not sure about E, it should say on their offical website. Again you dont train to be a composer you have to be a good composer or else they wouldnt take you. <333
