Can you visit south korea without visa?Im a filipina and i want to visit my sister there?

  • im a filipina and first timer who's planning to visit my sister staying in korea. so much paper needed when i called the embassy?!and ive searched a lot of different information in the internet and thats gave me a headached.i just wanna know if visa are needed, whats the requirements?or can you visit korea without it and apply it when i got there?i really appreciated, if somebody can give me an answer with this!!!Thanks a lot

  • Answer:

I don't think they will allow Philippines in Korea without visa because of so much illegal aliens over there; however, visa is not always needed to travel to Korea. If you were to leave from the US, you can stay in korea for about 3 weeks or so without applying for a visa. So there is a chance that you can stay in Korea without visa for maybe 2 weeks. But I would make sure so just give a travel company a call and they will tell you all the informations you need in about 10 minutes. No paperwork. Good luck

Nope, because the Philippines is not included in the visa-exemption agreement with Souh Korea. Therefore, you need a visa. :) I hope that helps. Please check my source for more info.

Since you already called the Embassy, didn't they tell you that you needed a visa? So, I'm wondering why you're even asking this question here? As you've said already "So much paper needed...when I called the Embassy." The Embassy has the final say regardless of what answers you get in this forum.

Unfortunately you really need a VISA to enter in Korea. You may want to seek help from a travel agent, they can assist you in securing one.

Go to the local Korean Consulate in Manila, or give them a call. Tell them you want to tour Korea, or visit a friend. Never tell them you are looking for a job, or there for business. Unfourtuately there are so many people from the southeastern part of Asia that are now in Korea illegally or working illegally. They are cracking down on it.
