Why can't people that are not korean be ulzzangs or K-pop stars?

You're a dumb ****. There are chinese people and some japanese people working in the Korean entertainment business. And you don't need to Korean to be an "ulzzang" that's just a Korean term for someone who has a pretty face... ㅡㅡ People like you freaking annoy me. And the only reason you get "bashed" on is because you act like a Korean when you are not.

Quit the whining. If you want to be a kpopstar, you have to take in criticisms in a good way, no matter how people are always putting you down. But seriously though, all these mentioning of wanting to be a kpop star drives me insane. I don't like it - period. The craz is just, urgh. I'm not a kpop hater, in fact I like SJ. But other than that, no more.

There is some non-Koreans in the business and I didn't see them really get bashed. I think it's up to the company to do so and they are in Korea and I think it be a little hard to advertise a new singer/group who aren't Korean. It's kind of like being in a class room with white people and your trying to elect a muslim for the student president lol It's gonna take a lot of critism and work lol

Korean teenagers can be closed minded and many Korean teenagers hate on Filipino, Thailand, and Chinese people. If you see in a school, don't you see Koreans only hanging out with Koreans? Korea is not a multicultural country yet. Plus, people that become american celebrities can ALLLL speak english. They MUST speak english. Just like in KPOP, you MUST speak Korean. Didn't you see in f(x)? They still let Chinese people in! Its because teenage girls and boys that cannot speak Korean at all are trying to get into the industry. How the hell are you going to sell then? How will the people understand what you're saying? do you see 케이 틀린 up there? yeah, those are the type of people Korean people will most likely choose as a victim. And the Ulzzang thing, it is probably because of the "wannabe" thing. If you're not Korean, and not actually pretty, you will get sooo much hate. Korean girls that are not ulzzang but post photos of themselves too much will still get an equal amount of hate. It's just that if you become an ulzzang, you start to have a reputation that you're self centered. Every country (Phillipines, Thailand, Japan, China etc) has different standards of beauty. Korea has this set standard of beauty, and if you don't quite reach that as an ulzzang...have fun handling the hate. But really, whatever ethnicity you are, they won't hate on you if you match the standard of Korean Beauty.

You can be anyone who you wanna be. But if you want others to respect you and look up to ya. You gotta put in alot of efforts and work hard. If people say nasty things abt you, you should take it as a constructive criticism and further improve yourself. What matters is that you should always be optimistic. All the best. Cheers.

I find it really unfair too! Other people who aren't Korean should be allowed to be a K-Pop star! I don't really see a legit reason why they do that. Either way, I bet you would make a great K-Pop star! n_n

K-Pop isn't just reserved for Koreans. There are many non Koreans in the K-Pop industry, and they seem to very popular! Nichkhun from 2PM is half Thai and half Chinese, Amber from f(x) is American Taiwanese, Han Geng (Han Kyung formerly of Super Junior) is Chinese, Joy and Xia from Rania are Thai and Chinese respectively. For many K-Pop companies, I think that they look for talent and looks, and it does help if you are Asian. You said that you are half, so I think that you'd have a chance if you have the talent, as Yoon Mi Rae (Tasha Reid) is also half, and she has had a good career so far. I don't think that the K-Pop companies solely want Koreans to be their next star, especially since one of those companies, SMEntertainment holds auditions overseas as well as in Korea. And finally, from what I've seen and heard, these non-Korean K-Pop stars are not bashed anymore than Korean K-Pop stars.

You are American of Filipino descendant, NOT half half. Ulzzang is a style, same way Lolita is. Anyone can do it as long as you have the right face, hair, style...ect. You CAN'T be a Kpop star because Korea wants a KOREAN singer/actor/idol for the KOREAN audience. Why the hell would they want a Filipino? Be logical. SM's new boyband EXO has 4 Chinese members in it and 2PM has a Thai member..And there was a band with a Jap member(can't remember the name of band) And if you haven't noticed ... Asians aren't doing very well in hollywood..only a few really gifted ones are doing well..so like India's Bollywood, Koreans have Kpop...Sorry but this world is cliched..Maybe you would want to try modelling in some American ad instead? But anyway if what you really want to be is a kpop star or an Ulzzang then go for it, you never know when the world will suddenly change lol. Good luck.
