What are some good Italian pop artists?

What do you think about non-Asians trying to be K-POP artists?

  • Well, I see a lot of non-Asians wanting to get into K-POP, and everything. I mean, it could happen, but the chances are very unlikely. First off, I don't get why they want to be "K"-POP artists. K-POP(K-pop is an abbreviation for Korean pop music, specifically from South Korea.) is Korean. Non-Asians are obviously not Korean. If they want to be K-POP stars, why can't they just be pop stars in their own country? It's the same thing. I believe people only want to become "K"-POP stars since they find the Koreans in the music videos "so hot" or they find the Korean language sounding better with pop music. I mean, don't get me wrong, the majority of us K-POP fans probably want to be K-POP singers. I mean, you can't tell me you guys never once had a dream that you were Korean and sang on stage with Super Junior?(LOL). But I think in reality if you want to become a singer, you have to think of being an actual singer before wanting to be a KOREAN singer. Second off, I don't think Koreans would even want foreigners singing in their country. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Koreans are racist, but if you heard an Indian guy(this isn't meant to be racist)saying "I WANNA BE AN AMERICAN SINGER RGNORTNGH", and first, not know English, second; only like American singers since he finds the English language more "intriguing" than Urdu or Hindi. And third, because he thinks his country is boring. I mean, it's okay to dream, but reality will hit you one day. And finally third off, the most common reason for non-Asians wanting to be K-POP singers is probably because they think, "OMG, LEE TAEMIN IS GONNA KNOW ABOUT ME AND THEN WE MIGHT FALL IN LOVE<3<3<3<3333". No. That, most likely, will not happen. I mean, honestly. It sort of annoys me, and I'm a K-POP fan. XD Also, this is probably going to get a bunch of people hating me probably or something, but I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just trying to get different point of views from people. Not trying to hate on peoples' "dreams". I mean, if it was realistic I would be the first one to scream out "I'MMA BE A K-POP SINGER", but it's not. All I want is answers from different peoples' point. No offense to anyone at all~! (:

B I N GO! Bravo! ♥ LMAO @ all these butthurt people in this section. Now, my question to you, what do you think of those extreme annoying 10 - 15 yr old fans who flood the Korea section with irrelevant questions about Kpop? (lol not you, just so you know). What does that have to do with TRAVEL and KOREA info? And their arguements LMAO! What's with the "oh antis are jealous?" They're all so embarrassing. Complete embarrassments. They easily get offended as soon as you disagree with their opinions on their favorite groups. They fail to comprehend the concept that human beings all have different tastes and everyone's intellect varies.

I use to want to be a K-pop artist but then I just took that idea out of my head because If a non-Asian were to go into K-pop I thought that it would loose it's originality and uniqueness and not be the same thing as what I and many other people fell in love with. It doesn't really bother me when non- Asians want or dream to be a K-pop artist to tell you the truth but if they actually turn into K-pop artist I would not be too crazy about it but I guess I would go with it.

Well, I'm not trying to be mean or anything but doesn't that go with the same thing as being a "Hip-Hip or Rap singer" isn't that African american music?! But, as you can see Eminem is a famous rapper and he's white. Same with country singers there's a few African-American who are country singers. I really don't think you should just judge someone by there color or appearance. Now I can say if that person was a non-Asian who understand the Korean language who knew how to act, sing and dance and looks a little Asian then, just give the person a chance. African-American people would have never thought that a white person like Eminem would blow into the Rap and Hip-Hop scene and sell millions of record. It's okay to dream, if someone is very devoted to become a K-pop star, then do it. You can't stop people from dreaming. ** Also there has been other race (outside form being Asian) in the Korean culture industry. Now, if that was to happen I wouldn't mind seeing a Non-Asian sing and dance to K-Pop, I feel like that person would get a lot of respect. But, that's just my opinion.

That's a very interesting question (: for one thing, it's fine for people to dream, girls can dream! But I find that if they love the music enough, they hafta get involved with it and have a passion for it. I love to sing; I love music and it makes my whole day just listening to a new song that I like. Yeah, I've dreamed a time or two of imagining myself singing and dancing with those groups. xD Any fan would. The glamour and beauty of the KPOP stars really catches the eye of anyone and many people would like to get into that kind of thing just for the glamour and fame. But one thing they don't realize that if they really want to get into that business is that they hafta have the TALENT for it. They hafta make so many sacrifices, such as giving up their youth and fun. They hafta pursue a very difficult road that may or may not work out and not many people realize that. It just makes people look shallow just overlooking that becoming a musician is not an easy road. It's like a 1 in a million chance of actually achieving that fame. I agree with you on the part that non asians should become singers in their own country. I mean it is KOREAN music! I know that so many people from many different races around the world love kpop but seriously...In my opinion, white american people should stick with trying out in the American industry; asians should stick with trying out in the Asian industry. But that doesn't mean you can't try, right? It'll just be an even smaller chance. Btw I don't think ur points are mean; I think they're true. People need a reality check. Dreams can come true only with hard work and dedication. No easy chance is just thrown at anyone that easily. If you wanna become a kpop star, you're gonna hafta get through hard work on your skills and talents musically. Maybe even have the opportunity to shine through your audition and catch the eyes of the judges. Maybe even pull through. But it's very unlikely. I think that if you wanna get involved with the kpop industry, you hafta love music enough first, and have the talent to want to do anything for it; that you will work your *** off til the end and you can't just quit that easily if you don't get what you want. Even if that doesn't work at least you tried, right? People don't always realize you hafta work your *** off and do even more to get into the music industry and that pisses me off; you might think there's a lot of people who are famous; but compare that number of idols into the actual population of people, there's a HUUUUUGE difference. Celebrities, stars, and idols barely make a percent of the population. It's not on luck that you become famous. Hopefully people don't see me hating on others for trying out their dream, but I'm trying to be realistic here as nice as I can... :)

"Non-Asians are obviously not Korean." Well, yeah.. Obviously.. That goes without saying.. Anyways, a lot of other Asians who are not Korean, also want to be in K-Pop groups. There are many current popular K-Pop groups where some of the members are not Korean. Also, some members are only half Korean. If you didn't know that, you should look it up. Of course, there are going to be many people who can't even speak a sentence in Korean and "want to be K-Pop stars." We all know that won't really happen. So why think so much about it? Just be like, "Yeah, yeah. Go ahead. Go to Korea. Good luck. See how it goes." I don't see why so many people spend so much time bashing on people who say things like that. Yes, those people are in complete denial, but there are others in denial in other things. It's like when Caucasian women want strong hair or young skin like Asian women typically have. Of course, you can TRY to get hair close to that, but it won't be exactly the same. It might not even be close, but people are always going to be like that. People see aspects in other people that make them want to achieve something similar or better. Sometimes it's unhealthy/wrong, but other times it might be just a wild dream or something good. You can't resent people who want to be like others in some way. Is that so bad? Another thing, an "Indian" guy CAN be American. Is there only one race in the U.S.? You can't really compare a vast country like the USA to South Korea.

i actually think it's pretty cool to have foreigners interested in your culture in this case music. i mean i would be considered a foreigner since i'm not korean but then i don't want to be a singer since i can't sing

You want to be a popstar. It's really hard to be an American one or a celebrity anywhere else- the people who are famous now have basically had a lot of luck to be recognised by the public, etc. and there's a really small chance that you'll blow up. However kpop, with it being really flashy, cool, etc. and the women don't need to expose theirselves to be famous (no offense, but it's true) it also has a very fair system to being scouted as a trainee. If you're good at singing, you could audition for a company, through lots of different ways. In the west, you need to start on the streets if you want to be become famous, and the chance that you'll end up on the streets in 99%. It's what I think that's all.

Liking K-pop in the first place is stupid and just weird. Don't get why people are obsessed with it so much, and wanting to be part of it. It's funny and just weird how fans are screaming (have some dignity!) or arguing in the internet about them. It's better to be an American singer because you get paid a lot and you'll be more famous or well known. Those "Non-Asians" that are trying to be K-pop Artist doesn't have any friends or life. I feel sorry for them.

I'm a SJ fan, not a kpop fan. To be really honest, I get completely sick of people wanting (in reality) to become a kpop star overnight. Basically, I've seen questions on JYP, YG, SM auditions being thrown everywhere on this site and it sickens the crap outta me tbh. You're so right about that we're dreaming to sing with SJ on the stage lmao but yeah, its the delusional fans who think that they actually would be able to do that. Americans have the market there so I think they had better stick to their own country for music. I'm not saying that they can't listen to Korean songs but it's apparently very difficult if they want to be a kpop star. However though, I feel that it's Asians who are NOT korean who has more of these kind of delusional dreams. No offence, I'm Asian and it irks me whenever I see people putting up questions like that. I mean, aside their looks, they've openly declared that they do NOT have talent. Yes, you tell me~ If you actually have the talent, then so be it. But if you do not have then... it's a complete waste of time. It's called a wave. And a wave will die down someday, well, years later XD I don't know about others, but I'm sticking to reality.
