How do korean students react to Western exchange students?

    Well, if you are the least bit social, you will have NO problem finding many women to date. There just are not that many western students in Korea. (as compared to in other countries) Westerners tend to be a source of interest. (are you blond/blue eyed by any chance? that will sharply increase the interest level) I would advise you to avoid involvement in conversations concerning US military bases here, the Sunshine policy or the Free Trade Agreement. None will lead anywhere positive for you, no matter what you say. (and you should have a handle on those 3 and their history before you come, so that you don't feel like a complete idiot) I never got farther than basic Korean and I get around fairly well. If you make an attempt at speaking Korea, it will be very well received. Korean university students are really not that different than anywhere else.

If you look similar to them (dark hair, dark eyes), then they may not have a huge reaction, I went there and I have light hair and bright blue eyes and they were taking pictures of me with their cell phones, so if you're not like me and you actually know the language probably not too much of a reaction.
