Is it cheaper to buy anime merchandise straight from japan then importing them?

  • Ill be more specific I been to tokyo japan's akiba they have many anime merchandise a great prices. depending on what store you find aitem you specific looking for. from what I have seen I have bought games and merchandise at outrageous cheap prices. like for example I got a special edition of a lucky star game for the ps2 for just 15$ that was surprising. like the title of my question "is it cheaper to buy anime merchandise straight from japan then importing them?" and one more question. since my trip to japan was over does anyone know where I can import anime merchandise and games at great or cheap prices? its probably going to cost more but since I'm not their I still want to buy stuff from japan.
