Are Concerts in Japan Different Than American Concerts?

Where can I get official tickets for events in japan?

  • I'm still quite new to japanese in that I can only read hiragana but I have trouble with buying tickets through japanese websites because most of them have kanji that I can't yet read and only post tickets to an address in japan. So does anyone know of an english speaking site that sells tickets for sporting events, concerts and festivals such as Hustle Aid, AKB48 concerts & The summer sonic festival and posts tickets outside of japan.

    Do you live in Japan? If you don't live in Japan now and do not have Japanese address and phone number, you can't buy tickets even if there is an English site.

I used a translator which seemed to work: http://www.excite-webtl.jp/world/english/web/?wb_url=http://eplus.jp/sys/main.jsp&wb_lp=JAEN For music gigs, scroll down to the pink box and choose popular music. For festivals, check the second-to-last part of the pink box, all the big ones are mentioned there (Fuji Rock, Summer Sonic etc.)

Your best bet is probably going through a Japanese buying agent service like FDJP, Crescent Shop, or Rinkya. They can buy you anything you want in Japan, from any website or even from actual shops. They will ship it to you in any country in the world. You just have to email them (FDJP will reply to emails quickly, some of the others have a different system) a list of what you want and they will buy it and then mail it to you. These type of services are operated by people who speak both English and Japanese. The only downside is that they will charge you a percentage of the purchase cost as a processing fee. Good luck!
