How much does a round trip ticket to Japan cost? 10 Points?

  • Im planning to go to Japan soon. What is the price for a round trip ticket to go over there? Here is some more info: I live in Illinois and i can depart from O'Hare airport or Midway Central Airport. I want to go there for about 2 months. My plans are to go there when im 18 and when i finish my senior year. That way, i have the whole summer to spend over there. I am currently 15 and i am going to be a sophmore when i return to school. So how much wohld a round trip ticket cost to go to Japan? Do you also think that that price would change in 3 yeats? Please help

  • Answer:

Airfares vary by several factors. Location, season, airline, etc... Christmas, Spring Break, Summer, Thanksgiving, and the New Years are very expensive times to travel because airlines hike up their prices when more people are flying. No one can exactly tell you what the round-trip ticket from Chicago to wherever you are going in Japan because the price will change in the future to come. If you really want to spend summer in Japan and do some volunteer work then you could check out www.goabroad.com where they offer tons of programs to several countries including Japan. Some of the programs they offer have very cheap airfare prices so really look into it and find out more.

There is no way to accurately predict what the price will be. Currently with oil prices the way they are most airlines are adding a fuel surcharge that amounts to several hundred dollars to the price of a ticket. If oil tumbles between now and then a ticket could be quite a lot less. Then again, if something else happens and oil blows through the roof, well today's prices will look very cheap. And if you leave in June or July, it is a lot higher than lower seasons like winter after New Year's and before spring break, or else the fall.

Never-Again

I don't think that you even bothered to search this yourself (if you did you would know that there is no set price as it fluctuates everyday). I usually offer help if the asker has done some legwork. All i can say is Google "cheap flight from O'Hare to Tokyo" and you will get lost of comparison sites. Take it from there

The price will change so that is very hard to give you an accurate answer. I can give you any prices as you felled to give the place in Japan that you will be going.

As has been said, the price will change between now and then. It also depends on the season, though you have decided that much. If you are curious about the price, keep in mind that you are also going to have to develop some independence to make such a trip. As such, Google is your tool. Just search for "cheap airfare from <your airport> to <airport in Japan>". And before you can ask, figure on needing at least $175/day (at the current exchange rate) for hotel, meals and transport/sightseeing.

Should be about $1500 for the flight.
