Where can I watch wrestling online?

When/how can I watch sumo wrestling online?

  • I've always enjoyed the YouTube sumo matches I've seen and would like to start watching the current matches... but I live in a dorm (can't get a satellite dish) in America.... so online seems to be my only option. Being a newbie, I also don't know when the season begins/ends.... can anyone help me out?

The tournaments are held in the odd numbered months, so there is no season, just times of the year. Matches start around lunch, maybe a bit earlier. These are the very low level matches. None of the fanfare and buildup found in the higher level matches. Broadcasts usually start around 4PM. There's also Sumo Digest, which comes on NHK about 11PM or so. Shows the highlights of the days matches. Once again, minus the fanfare and buildup. NHK broadcasts them. But I have no idea how you could get the program from the U.S. You could try what I would try, which would be to Google "Watching Sumo online" or some variation thereof.
