You can study medicine at all the above universities. The problem is that all the lectures are carried out in Japanese. This excerpt is from the Hokkaido University website. The lectures and exams at Hokkaido University are carried out in Japanese. Especially if you would like to apply for the entrance exams for prospective undergraduates, you would be expected to have a good command of Japanese. In other words, you would be required to have the level of understanding equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N1 (2000 kanjis + vocabulary of 10000 words). All the universities require overseas students to take Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) on top of their own entrance exams. Subjects: (1) Japanese as a Foreign Language = Measurement of the Japanese language skills (academic Japanese) required for studying at Japanese universities. (2) Science Measurement of the basic academic skills in science (2 subjects out of Physics, Chemistry and Biology) necessary for studying in a science department of a Japanese university. (3) Mathematics Measurement of the basic academic skills in mathematics necessary for studying at Japanese universities. http://www.jasso.go.jp/eju/eju_guide21_e.html Tuition fees: They are all national universities, so the tuition fees are the same. Examination fee: 17000 yen Admission fee: 282000 yen (to be paid in full upon enrolment) Tuition fees: 535800 yen/year (to be paid in 2 installments) x 6 years for Medical Schools Good luck!

There are a few colleges that teach in English. But I've never heard of one where you can study medicine. Those are Japanese only schools. Even a college that teaches in English might be a problem if you can't pass the tests.

The two previous posts got the point across as to whether you can study medicine in Japan without speaking Japanese. Allow me to be succinct..... You can not.
