U.S. citizen are visa exempt to Japan, U.S. residents are not. Based on your citizenship you will need a visa since Japan and the Philippines do not have a reciprocal visa waiver agreement. you should be fine travailing on your passport .. try calling a Philippine embassy they would know .. a visa would be hard to get that fast ... a us passport might not be, try calling the passport office, and find out if you qualify .. you don't always have to be a citizen to get a passport .. at least in Canada
