You need a four year degree to work there, unless you want to be a dancer in a night club...You just can't move there.Outside of teaching English, jobs are few and far between. Unemployment is on the rise. Many young Japanese are out of work.Jobs will always go to a native Japanese first. Not all Japanese are nice or beautiful. The yakuza will make dog food out of you if you mess with them.Japan isn't a fantasy land. There's a lot of negative things there most people don't even know about.I love Japan, her culture, and people. But you have to know the difference between what you see in a movie and what's reality.

Most people in this board who live there or have an extensive knowledge of Japan will tell you the same thing. You CAN'T just move to Japan and expect to make a living there. The fact that you don't speak Japanese is probably the biggest stepback you'll have if you ever plan on residing there. You'll need a work visa, a degree of some sort, and a legit reason for making this country your permanent home. As for Tokyo itself, I truly think the city is gorgeous and lively, especially during nighttime where all you see are neon signs posted everywhere and crowds of people (both young and old) doing their own thing. I've always enjoyed dynamic cities like Tokyo, or England so I'll be sure to visit there one day!
