What is shipping method SAL?

How long does it take to get a package from Kanazawa Japan, if they are using Standard (SAL) Shipping??

  • Hello, I purchased some items from Kanazawa Japan, and I was wondering how long does it usually take to get a package from there, if they are using Standard (SAL) Shipping? Some people say 1-2 weeks, some says much longer.. Please help...thanks

    It totally depends on the air traffic situation. When the aircrafts are packed with regular airmails, SAL will be left behind. In worst cases, it takes 3-6 weeks from Japan to the U.S. So, I strongly recommend that you use regular airmail if you are in the U.S. If you are in Europe, regular airmails and SAL do not make much difference. I am positive. I have sent hundreds of items to the U.S. and Europe for the past six years.
