Answer:
You should keep in mind that there is more than one religion in Japan, just like in the US and so many other countries. The whole country isn't just one religion. Most Japanese people follow Buddhism and/or Shintō. I'm pretty sure that right now the official religion is Shintō. Here's an article about it from wikipedia:

Most of Japanese don't pay much attention to religion. Most of Japanese believe pantheism rather than atheism or monotheism. Most of Japanese don't care if Jesus of Nazareth was really existing or not. Most of Japanese don't know any Bible or Koran or Sutra. Most of Japanese, however, believe Heaven and Hell in the posthumous world.

They have no belief in God. They weren't able to convert non-Japanese. It causes them to hate other Asians. Promotes suicide. An old-generation version of Pokemon.

They are some of my views: -According to "the almanac of the religion" (issued by the bureau of culture of the Japanese government), there are 106 million Shintoists and 96 million Buddhists in Japan. It means that almost all the Japanese believe in both Shintoism and Buddhism. Unlike Christianity or Islam, the both religion do not have the rule about forbidding idolatry. -However, their attitude toward the religion is far from devout. Most of the shintoists visit the shrines only once a year, on a new year holiday. Most of the Buddhists visit the temples only for the funerals. -Only less than 1% of the Japanese are Christian, however, some of the customs of Christianity are widely spread among the Japanese. Most of the Japanese families have a home party on the Christmas Eve. The St. Valentine's day has also become very popular, because the chocolate manufacturers has encouraged young women to send chocolate to her male friends on that day. The Christian-style wedding ceremony is very popular as well, so that increasing numbers of chapels have been built in the premise of hotels. -What Japanese believe in may not be just respective religion, but be the law of universe or nature which is behind or beyond the religion. That is why some of the Japanese who are atheist believe in reincarnation.

Their emperor is supposedly god in human form. They believe that japanese are the master race, but after WW2 they believe that they are the middle race, whites and good-looking people of non-Black races are gods, non-Blacks that are not good-looking are slightly below the japanese, and Blacks are dead last. Japanese hate Blacks just like the whites, arabs, indians, latinos, etc. that they worship.
