Which University in Japan offers a degree in Japanese Language & Cultures?

Several questions about Japan?

  • I'm Russian, female, graduating this year from the university. I speak English fluently, and Russian, and a bit of German. 1) Are there any universities in Japan that offer a Masters Degree taught in English or Russian? (or any other type of post-higher education that would be recongnized in Japan) (I'm mostly interested in Management related majors) The thing is there are no Japanese teachers in the city where I live, so I can't really learn it here. But that would be great if I could study there and learn Japanese while studying. 2) Is there any need of Russian language teachers there? 3) Are there any jobs for those who don't speak Japanese well? (like part-time jobs or something..) 4) Is there any discrimination when hiring people of different nations? 5) What do Japanese think of Russian people? 6)Are there any websites that have job offers?

  • Answer:

1, The universities teach in Japanese only. 2, There are very few Russian teachers or Russian people around. 3, You may be able to teach Russian if you find those who want to study it. 4, It depends on your level of Japanese and if you had experience working with Japanese people in Japan (they want to know if you are familiar with their work ethic and practices even if they are not what you were used to in your home country). 5, There are few Russians in Japan to form a really strong opinion. 6, www.gaijinpot.com Try applying to some German companies since you speak a little German as well.

Other answers

1, It's obvious that there is none in Russian. And I think there is none in English, either. Or just 1 or 2 if any. 2, Almost none. Not many Japanese people learn Russian. But not zero. 3, I told you in the previous question that English teacher is the most likely job for those who do not speak Japanese. But since you are from Russia, it's also difficult for you. 4, It's difficult for non-Japanese to find a job. 5, They don't know about Russian so much. 6, Like this http://www.japan-guide.com/
