Jassss you will love Japan, right now I think you need to spend a little time in Youtube like watching some Japanese frunks, this will give you an idea how crazy different they are in humor. And watch some movies about them, there are many movies about Japan life.... same gaijin (foreiigner) as you are, and them to you. Do not embarrass yourself not reading about the CULTURE SHOCK JAPAN. Get this book from Million Bookstore, or even in the internet, this book you can read this while you are setting on the plane for 11 hours to Japan. And learned a little greatings and appreciation words, like DOMO ARIGATOU! (THANK YOU VERY MUCH), YOU'RE WELCOME ( DOU ITTASHIMASHITE), HOW ARE YOU ( OGENKI DESU KA), you can down load some phrases on line. Oh my goodness I am the one is very excited for you. And oh, dont forget to search on line how to used Japanese bathroom. this will be your greatest disappointment if you dont know how or how this look like. he he he! you might come in the bathroom and still looking for the toilet. HOW TO USE THE TOILET ( OBENJO WA DOU TSUKAU DESU KA?) As foreigner you need to ask and dont pretend you know, its not HAZUKASHI or shameful to really let them demonstrate it for you. You are gaijin for them, and they will respect you for being a gaijin, but treat them nicely too. Always show politeness when you are asking question, and bring some business cards even a simple card, exchanging business card is done when you are going to ask question or ask favor from Japanese older guys, so you appear to be dealing honesty with them. build trust by giving your name to them. Strange ha? Everything you see around you in Japan do not touch. just look, and dont be loud either, they have the right to be loud because thats their country. They dont respect you if you are loud, they will get annoyed at you. Be friendly and be curteous, you will notice they will try to be nice to you of "the whole vacation in there" ... and you will have a lot of fun with them. Learning things and vice-versa. Always remember to remove your shoes when entering a Japanese house. Tatami is very expensive kind of flooring, so no shoes allowed inside. Thanks for listening.

Samurai were gone by the mid 1850's...Tokyo Drift is a fantasy movie and has little to do with Tokyo as it really is. If you don't want to spend any time reading, I'm afraid you're out of luck. EDIT: much of Tokyo Drift was filmed in LA !

Japan is a VERY cool place besides the racism. They look up to caucasians though. As long as you are not Black, you can expect to be respected (at least as a guest). Black people are treated as subhumans there though.

It depends on what part of Japan you are going to, people on the country side are really friendly specially in Okinawa or the Kyushu area, basically Japanese people are very disciplined although very buzy in big cities as in Tokyo. I dont know the particular place you are going in Japan but if you like Metropolis, high tech and shopping it must be Tokyo or Yokohama but if you would like nature at its best which i prefer Kyoto, Nikko, Hakone and Kamakura in order is the place to go.

never been but i would love to go to Japan! where did you wanna go? try reading a book like Memoirs of a Geisha and you will see how different the Japanese culture is to ours. (im not being sexist but i know a couple of guys who tried to read ths book and they didnt finish it - i dunno if its just that it wasnt "cool" or they really didnt like it but seriously it is my favourite book f all time so give it a go! or watch the film which is good too) there is so much to write about japan for a school project! watch/read the film/book and see what i mean! the whole culture is so interesting hope this helps!
